The medicine cabinets and shelves are a lovely maple wood construction. They are almost new and are very well made. So we want to keep them but I’m not sure what color of tile will look good with them.

If you installed a brand new bathtub and surround today, how long should it stay decent looking and useable?
We are looking to buy a home where these items will need to be replaced. My husband says he and his father can do this.
My objection is that these two replaced his mom’s about 15 years ago, and it looks pretty rough these days. I want to know if that’s a reasonable lifespan for these products or if these two gentlemen think their skills are better than they really are.
Materials used would include natural stone tile on the floors and shower/tub walls, a glass enclosed shower, dual sink, natural stone slab counter top or natural stone tile counter top and possibly jacuzzi tub.
I’m going for a Bamboo theme in my bathroom and want to try to grow some real bamboo to put in there for decoration. Does Bamboo have to have sunlight at all times or will in grow in the bathroom even with the lights off? I’m not looking for anything huge just a few shoots in a small pot. Any tips or ideas are appreciated!
The tile is on the floor and on half of the walls and on the shower…the tile is pink with white swirls in it. I am replacing the cabinets and coutertops and I don’t now what color to paint the walls. The pink is a real pink it is not light pink or dark just a standard pink.
I want a modernized look
I have sanded cabinets that were stained dark brown and varnished to prep them for painting. I planned to paint them white but would lile to give them a more interesting look by adding some antiquing with glaze or stain. Does anyone know how to do this? Or where I can find information on how to do this? Appreciate any ideas!
Would it save me any money if had the house prepped for the contractor? Having cabinets, appliances, carpet, flooring removed or Am I better off letting contractor handle all the demo himself? (I have not received a contract from builder yet)

I have no idea what a fair price would be. Remove sink, toilet and tub and replace with new shower stall. Remove all wall tile and paint. I would also need tile on the floor. It is roughly 7"x 11". Oh, I forgot! Of course a new sink and toilet. Nothing fancy, just functional. Would really appreciate hearing from somebody!
What’s avalable for wall covering, I don’t want to use wall paper or wood panel due to the humidity, & moisture. How about plastic panels or similar something that’s easy to install & clean. Any good suggestions out there??? No tile either
