I specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling and I’m always looking for more business. I’m hoping to partner with some of the local plumbing companies in order to generate more leads (esp. bath remodels). Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I’ve tried print advertising but all I get is telemarketer calls.

I’m in the process of tiling a wall around a bathtub using subway tiles and glass. I have already installed the rock board. I’m ready to start filling in the seams and edges with thinset motar. I would like to know if I put corners in first or thinset then use the redgard waterproofing or use the redgard first then the thinset.

We are remodeling our bathroom but did not plan on putting a bathtub in it because we have a hot tub. We were just going to put a shower in it. We do have another full bathroom upstairs that does have a bathtub in it. We plan on selling our house in a couple years and after watching HGTV House Hunters, I see that most people want a bathtub in the master bath. Do you think we should put one in to help sell the house or just forgo the bathtub because we don’t use it?

I have heard that marble looks the best but it is very high maintenance

I currently have a tub/shower setup and I would like to install a shower panel which somehow still allows me to fill my bathtub with water too. How does the plumbing work in this case ? Do I need 2 diverters? Do I need to buy a shower panel with a tub spout built in? What type of flow rate do I need from the spout to effectively fill a standard 5ft x 2ft (or so) tub?

ps I looked on hgtv and diy.com so direct answers are needed please!

Ballpark installation fee to replace bathtub?

We have a crack in out fiberglass tub and are considering having it replaced. It’s one of those 3-piece with wall unit. House is in NJ. Any idea how much it would cost to install a new one (and remove old one).

I just moved into a new place. A new shower head was installed in the bathroom before I moved in. But when I pull the knob to turn the water to the faucet, the faucet works but the water still streams from the shower head, splashing all over the bathroom. The knob to change the water from shower to faucet is a little metal knob you pull up on that is located on top of the faucet. How can I fix this?

How much does a typical bathroom remodel cost?

I’m planning to remodel my small bathroom. Just wondering what’s the best way to get an estimate of how much it would cost.

Removing rust stains from a bath tub can be done using a vinegar and baking soda mixture, which forms a paste and creates a great scrubbing formula. installing a pegasus faucet?

I am trying to install a pegasus bathroom faucet for my bathtub. There seems to be some sort of button on the back of the faucet. I can’t figure out it’s purpose, but it has to do something because even though I’ve tightened up all the screws the faucet is still loose. Does anyone know how to install it properly?

My gf just bought a house and we’re having my dad do some remodeling on her bathroom. The floor area is about 30 or so sq ft, we’re having him remove all the tiles (over half way up the wall) replace the drywall on all three walls where the tile was, install ceramic tiles on the floor, and install a bath/shower kit, and no one is really sure how much to charge for the labor.

We’re also wondering if we should charge an hourly rate of some sort, or somehow figure out what to charge per item. Just looking for a general range. This kind of work is not really new for him since he has about 25 or so years of experience, so he knows what he’s doing for the most part.

Thanks in advance for any answers or suggestions you may have.
Thanks for the answers so far.

Here’s some additional details. We/he had to remove all of the tiles and lath for the walls, some reconstruction on the walls in addition to putting up new drywall (taping and floating), replaced seals for the toilet since it started leaking and replaced shutoff valves for the sink which were old. We’ve removed and replaced the sink and toilet once and will have to do it again to lay down the new floor.

We’ll probably paint it ourselves, but my modified question now is if you had to break down each item, how much should we charge for each, should we consider an hourly rate, or come up wih something else?

Altogether it looks like it’ll take about 20 hours… maybe more (up to 30?) Materials altogether will probably range between 0-0.

Any more thoughts?

remodeling bathroom tile?

Found brick and old tile under existing tile. Can tile be put over these? What product is the best to adhere tile to brick and old tile? Also, are there extenders for the faucets, since this will take up room?
