Bathroom vanities. Any Ideas on a bathroom remodel?

I have a 72 inch opening in my bathroom that needs a sink and vanity. Problem is that I am having hard time finding a new 72 inch single sink vanity. What would U do with that size a opening to finish your bathroom? I have no other cabinets in the bathroom. My bathroom is only a 10X7

I plan to use a licensed plumber to replace the pipes with copper pipes and combine the separate shower with the exising bathtub, and put in new tile and cabinets. I assume this will require a permit (I’m in Los Angeles). My question is, will my project be approved if the electrician is not licensed in CA (he is licensed in another state)?

we are remodeling our bathroom. The countertop is shot but our cabinets are still in great shape. They are not solid wood…they are wood faced. They have been painted once already but I don’t like the color. I am concerned about painting it as I don’t want the paint to scratch or chip off. Any suggestions as to how to assure this will not happen.

    Remodeling My Bathroom Counter tops…Help!?

I moved into a new home this weekend, I like everything about the house but the bathroom, it still has the old yellow, cream looking Laminate counter tops with the old dark brown cabinets. I want to paint the the counter tops maybe a black color. I have looked up how to do it but my questions is instead of sanding them down, can I just use a Liquid Deglosser instead of having to sand them down and make a mess?
Please give me your idea’s on how to remodel my bathroom but cheap!!

    Bathroom/Bedroom remodeling? Size issue…?

We are considering some remodeling and are hoping to get some opinions.

The house has two bedrooms, 12×12 and 10×12 and one small bathroom, 5×7 with no cabinets or storage in it at all. We really want the bathroom a little bigger to fit an actual vanity. The only option would be to take some space away from the 12×12 bedroom. We aren’t sure if that would be a good idea, or if it would hurt us if we had to sell in the future. ?

I’m remodeling my bathroom and putting in new tile flooring and vanity cabinet. Should I put flooring first or cabinet vanity? Should I put tiles under the cabinets or not?

    Thanks!

I am in the process of remodeling my bathroom and need help with the paint color. The tile i have on the floor is blue/gray and the cabinets are oak. I don’t want the bathroom to look too dark and small so any suggestions will be appreciated.

I am doing complete bathroom remodeling now. I am replacing floor, walls, cabinets.. etc.. I ripped of everything, you can just see the wood floor and the studs.

    Now I have a question…..

Initially, all my water valves in that bathroom were coming from the walls (which I think was convenient). But later we invited some plumbers to change all our water pipes in our house to pvc. And in our bathrooms they drilled holes into the floor.
They install need water valves from the floor.

Do you think it is better if those water valves (for sink and toiled) are coming from walls or floor?

Should I invited them again to change this? (I still have 1 year warranty from them, I am not sure if this can covert it).

or do you think I could make it myself?
ok.. thanks.. so to remove old tiles from those areas, I just need to disconnect the valves from those water lines?

what can I use as temporary closure for those water lines?

    Bathroom Remodeling?!?

My bathroom needs remodeling asap. I guess we can’t get rid of the outdated pale yellow tiles with brown bordering.. The sink and cabinets are white. The tub is the same weird pale yellow, neutral color. Need creative and more modern ideas or quick fixes! Advice on the tiles much appreciated, also!

    Bathroom and Kitchen remodeling?

I have a kitchen that is 13′ by 7′, and a bathroom that is 5′ by 7′. For the bathroom, I am looking to reglaze the tub, retile the walls and floors, new sink, toilet, and new cabinet. For the kitchen, I’m thinking of refacing the cabinets, getting rid of some brick on the walls (?), and retile the floors. The flooring in both rooms will probably be laminate. Any rough idea as to how much this could cost? I don’t plan to go overboard by getting the most expensive items, as a budget comes into play here.

If I am purchasing all the material for the remodel from them (cabinets, tile, sinks etc) and they are installing everything, do I have to pay sales tax on those products? What about the labor, is that taxed? I am confused about "capital improvement".

P.S. I live in New York

I know you are not suppose to use a dark color in a small area but I am not a huge fan of lighter colors. I have used yellows and tans in my home already. I figure with the white cabinets and 36 inches of wainscoting wrapped around the room it should be ok. I was thinking of a navy to paint on the wall.

The 2 colors are a biscuit which is like a light beige with speckles in it or like a white marble. We think the white will look contempory and clean on the espresso cabinets but we like the beige too. Any suggestions with which one you think would look nicer?

The tile is on the floor and on half of the walls and on the shower…the tile is pink with white swirls in it. I am replacing the cabinets and coutertops and I don’t now what color to paint the walls. The pink is a real pink it is not light pink or dark just a standard pink.
    I want a modernized look

I have sanded cabinets that were stained dark brown and varnished to prep them for painting. I planned to paint them white but would lile to give them a more interesting look by adding some antiquing with glaze or stain. Does anyone know how to do this? Or where I can find information on how to do this? Appreciate any ideas!

Would it save me any money if had the house prepped for the contractor? Having cabinets, appliances, carpet, flooring removed or Am I better off letting contractor handle all the demo himself? (I have not received a contract from builder yet)

    Bathroom remodeling… wallpaper and cabinets?

I’m taking down the wallpaper in my bathroom but it goes behind a huge mirror glued to the wall. Is there anyway to get the mirror down or should I not worry about whats behind it?

Also, the cabinets are grey fermica (late 80s style)… is there anyway to remove the fermica (easily) or should I just replace the cabinets entirely?

ANY extra ideas or thoughts are entirely welcome! I’m a newbie at doing this!
will the mirror break though if i pull it off the wall? and how do i get it off the wall if possible?

wants to replace old cabinets, install marble counter toff, install recess lighting, and remodel the bathrooms.
