Last May, we paid ,000 to a contractor to totally gut the mastbath and replace everything because we had a leaky, old tub/shower combo. Well I just notice major water spots on the ceiling below. What could be leaking and what should we do? My husband thinks the tub is sealed very well, but we are at a loss and extremely upset because of the money that we have already spent.
Sorry, we think that tub is NOT sealed very well.

My friend who lives in metro Manila Philippines has a serious delima and I would like very much to help her but I find it impossible since I live in the US. Her toilet, bathtub and kitchen sink are all backed up and she is frantic because she has 4 small kids and no money whatsoever. Her and the kids are forced to beg neighbors to use their facilities and it is quite an embarrassment however they have no choice. She doesn’t own the property which was previously used as a repair garage and work shop. She had a plumber in to assess her urgent situation. He explained that he would need to know where the septic and drain field were located before he could pump it out and relieve the problem. She contacted the owner of the property and was told he has no idea where it is located so the guy told her the only alternative would be to install another one which is of course very costly and in her destitute circumstances she is totally unable to raise the funds to have the new installation. Is there a sure fire way of locating the old septic tank and drain field to help her quickly at a considerable lower cost than doing an all new system on property that dosen’rt belong to her? The owner is unwilling to invest any money whatsoever in the project and he is allowing her and her kids to live there rent free already. Please help me help her!!
HER PLACE IS IN CALOOCAN CITY NEAR MANILA. THE PROBLEM IS THE PLACE SHE LIVE IN IS CONVERTED FROM WORK SHOP TO LIVING SPACE.

My house was built in 1957. It has hardwood floors throughout. As you can imagine, the bathrooms are very outdated. My full bath has a rose color tile on the wall and rose and green tile floor. I also want to save money in the process as remodeling bathrooms can be expensive. I plan to replace updated tile in the shower area only and paint the rest of the bathroom. Is there a way I can remove the tile from the walls without having to pay someone a lot of money to remove the tile? Any suggestions is appreciated.
Oh no, demo is more expensive. Any other suggestions. Can tile be painted? I am a first time homeowner so all of this is new to me.

I need a statistic on how much more money you get back if you are selling a house with a remodeled bathroom.
It is only 0-500 max. We are keeping the same tile and toilet. I have some knowledge in interior design and am making it look more like a 1,000+ remodel. But I need a statistic so I can get the OKAY on it.

I’m looking for tips and websites that will help in finding out tips and ways to remodel a kitchen and bathroom. Both are SMALL!
I’m getting married and for a gift my parents are giving us remodeling money for his kitchen and then we plan on using any cash towards the bathroom.
So any tips or website please.
Any experiances too would be great!
Thanks!

No joke, smart a.
Mama is 83, and afraid of falling.
I was wondering if there was any sort of compensation available for her. I appreciate your concern.
I did a search of their web site. They offer a list of helpful information about how not to fall down.
Keep a light on.
Don’t let the kids leave toys out.
Put a rubber mat in the bathtub.
Looks like we are getting our money’s worth here. I wonder what they will do for her if she really does fall?

Would it save me any money if had the house prepped for the contractor? Having cabinets, appliances, carpet, flooring removed or Am I better off letting contractor handle all the demo himself? (I have not received a contract from builder yet)

Ok, I already have a brand new faucet for the bathroom sink that I picked up last year for very cheap on clearance. It’s color is polished brass. Now I am in need of a shower head and handle to match. The only problem is that polished brass is not a popular color and is very pricey. Also, our vanity handles are a dull gold color. I have found a color called brushed bronze, which is a dull gold as well. I was thinking about just buying a new sink fixture and then a shower one in the brushed bronze, since I feel it looks nicer than the shiny gold. But, would it be silly to buy a new sink faucet, when I already have one? My husband thinks we should just get a polished brass shower kit to save money. Would using the brushed bronze increase the value of our home at all, or should I just save money and go with the polished brass?

I hate my bathroom. I have a blue toilet, bath tub and sink. I dont have a ton of money to replace everything so i wanted to paint the tub, sink, and vanity and i was going to replace the toilet and the fake wood floor with tile. My question is is it possible to paint the tub and sink from blue to white and will it last?

My hubby and I got our first appartment together last may and have not really had the "money" to buy nice things for the house like curtains, tablecloth, home decorations, portraits, and just accent things to make your house a home. Everything we got is mostly our marriage gifts living room set, tv, all of our kitchen appliances, dinning table and some of the bathroom stuff. everything else we brought home from when we were single.
We are using 0 from our taxes so I can finally get what I NEED for the house. I was wondering what store I could really use my money on things like I know macy’s I would buy like 5 things and thats it. What’s store sells nice things for the home for cheaper than department stores?
Any tips are greatly appreciate it. I’m 21 yrs old, newly wed and live in miami! THANKS!

when I built my house I thought I would save some money by leaving out the tub in one of our bathrooms and just make it a powder room. It has a toilet and a sink. I am on a concrete slap. my house is not raised up. The room is big enough to add a tub and I would like to do that now BUT…. the toilet is wear the tub would need to fit and then I would have to move the toilet to a differnt place beside the tub. How hard is this to do?

Hi there!
This is my first time so here I go…
My husband and I are hoping to update our bathroom. We want to do it ourselves to save money. If we were to retile the floors and walls, replace our bathtub and add shower (we only have the tub now), replace toilet and sink (it’s a pedestal sink now), and light fixtures. What would be the order in which to tackle these projects? Our home is old and I don’t the walls are dry wall.
I’d appreciate any help you can give us. Thanks!!!
