What natural stone should I put in my bathroom?

I’m completely remodeling my bathroom and luckily have access to very discounted natural stones and tiles like granite, marble, onyx, travertine, mosaics and what not (no glass tiles tho)…. I need to decide by Monday what I want to do since I have a contractor coming in…. It is full bathroom; however, it is relatively small in size…. I already have a nice black vanity area with the outside glass bowl and an absolute black countertop. I was thinking about putting 12×12 absolute black tiles on a floor but have no idea how to do shower stall? What would like nice with black granite? I was thinking about some onyx mosaic on the shower floor and maybe honey onyx on the walls??? Also which paint would look nice??? I am looking for something modern, sharp and simple in form….
Please help….

Ok. Here’s the issue. I had to tile around a window in the bathroom, including the window sill. This window is inside the bathtub/shower stall. Can I put some sort of white plastic trim around the edges of the window so it looks neat and tidy? I would like to have 45 degree angles at the corners too so it looks seamless. This is a DIY job, so of course, there was a tile that was not cut perfectly straight so now I would like to add plastic trim all the way around the window to make it look straight. Can you give me a name of the product or is it just some sort of generic trim you can buy at the hardware store.

Remodeling Bathroom Ideas/Estimate?

I am looking to remodel my bathroom. The bathroom is very small! About 5 ft wide and 6 1/2ft long. Just to give you a visual of the layout-
when you walk in there is a tall cabinet to the left, a short/single sink vanity on the right, a normal toliet on the left next to the cabinet and the tub/shower is situated in the back of the bathroom. Our flooring is old and would probably need to be replaced as well. All in all, I would like to replace the floor&tile, vanity, shower, toliet, and add a different storage area. Please give me input about how much you think this would be or suggestions on design/layouts for the bathroom.

Mystery Leak. Advice?

My downstairs neighbor told me this morning that he heard dripping on his ceiling around the time I was in the shower (first time he heard it). He said it was really loud and thinks that I’m doing serious damage. He claims a leak ocurred with the previous owner–toilet gasket? And that there was a pipe leak once before several years ago. #1. I know NOTHING about plumbing. So I’m anxious about what kind of repairs I could be in for and how even to begin #2. I have limited info. How do I find this mystery leak? Even if I call a plumber will the whole floor/ceiling need to be opened up to find it? There is space between my floor and his ceiling. #3. A friend suggested that it could be the tub drain and that the tub might have to come out. I bought this place a year ago & the bathroom is really ugly. The previous owner had bathfitters — or the like installed to create a shower stall with the tub. If the tub comes out, will this require me to completely re-do the bathtub/shower stall?

Hi. I am having bathroom remodeled. 1950s shower stall w/ 7 shower heads 1 regular over head and 3 on each side. The original pipes are still there and original heads I presume as we have not changed them and we have been here since 1976. I can not find heads to fit the 6 but I want this style still? Any suggestions?

How much to DIY a bathtub and shower?

We have a half bath that has plenty of room to add a bathtub/shower stall. It’s by the back door of the house, so I’m happy to go with an economy model. Can anyone guess how much this will cost me to install? We would do as much of the work ourselves as possible as my husband is handy with plumbing.

We live in Virginia. Thanks so much!!

Rough estimate on small bathroom remodeling?

I have no idea what a fair price would be. Remove sink, toilet and tub and replace with new shower stall. Remove all wall tile and paint. I would also need tile on the floor. It is roughly 7"x 11". Oh, I forgot! Of course a new sink and toilet. Nothing fancy, just functional. Would really appreciate hearing from somebody!

remodeling a bathroom, garage style, ideas please?

Im redoing my sons bathroom, very small area, just where sink and commode are is about 4×6 feet. other side is shower stall. I am considering doing it in garage style and anything goes. am looking at parts washer for sink, tool box for vanity cabinet, diamond plate wallpaper, lots of chrome, stainless, galvanized, stuff. The flooring has me stymied. Looking for something like a hard surface you would find in a shop or garage, but i have particle wood floor base. He wants a concrete look. Please throw any ideas my way for things to do to this bathroom, i pretty much will try anything.
