We are remodeling our bathroom. Should we put decorative tile around and above the tub or do a tub enlosure.?

Tile by all means. When do right and sealed properly ( the grout) it will out last you and me. You can do a fancy design , plain tile with a design or stripe, a slightly larger tile to show it off. So many choices.
